What is your role at HOPE, in your own words?
I have the privilege of engaging with the HOPE community around the topics of stewardship, generosity and giving. I love making connections with our HOPE community and encouraging them in the stewardship of their time, talents and treasure for the glory of the Kingdom of God.
What’s your favorite verse/passage of scripture and why?
1 Thessalonians 5:16-10 – Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. This has been our family verse for many years, and I find it to be a good reminder of what we can do to honor in our everyday lives – praise, prayer, and gratitude!
What year did you start coming to HOPE? Working at HOPE?
Originally – I attended as a college student (University of Richmond – Go Spiders!) off and on between 1998-2002, but then I moved away. Our family moved to Richmond in 2013 and we’ve been HOPE members since then. I joined staff in March 2025.
What’s something that brings you joy?
How much time do you have? Ha! Gardening, reading, exercising, most any DIY or home design project, traveling to new places with my family… the list is always growing!
What’s your go-to comfort food or coffee order?
Comfort food – salsa & chips! Coffee – Pistachio or Lavender oatmilk latte.
If you could instantly become an expert in something, what would it be?
I’ve always wanted to be fluent in French – I took it for many years growing up, but sadly didn’t have the opportunity to practice it enough to become fluent.
What’s something people might not know about you?
I’ve won a cricket spitting contest and eaten rattlesnake – not in the same day though!
