Chuck Kicker was raised in a Christian home in Birmingham, Alabama, where he accepted Jesus as his Savior at an early age. However, Jesus did not become Lord of his life until he was a young adult, where he began taking deeper steps of faith. God opened new doors for him to serve others and to help people mature in their faith.
As a graduate of the University of Alabama, he was commissioned in the Navy and was, subsequently, promoted to the rank of Captain. He commanded two ships and, later, was Commander of a Destroyer Squadron of 17 ships and over 5,000 people. Chuck led the team that developed and implemented the Navy’s Core Values. Each new duty station provided opportunities to lead small groups, teach Bible studies and classes, serve as a deacon and elder, and be a positive influence and role model for young men and women.
While living in Pensacola, Florida, Chuck served on the American Cancer Society Unit Board, where he was previously President. He is also an honorary life member of the Florida State Board of Directors.
Chuck values prayer, worship, study, staying connected to God, building relationships, and loving the people around him the way God loves them.
He now resides in Henrico with his wife, Polly. They enjoy sharing their faith together and leading a community group. He has two sons, Ken and Josh, both in full-time ministry, serving in local churches in Fort Worth, Texas and Virginia Beach. They also have two, delightful daughters-in-law and five grandchildren.
