Catherine Turner

DISCIPLESHIP PASTOR

WHAT IS YOUR ROLE AT HOPE?

As Discipleship Pastor, I’m called to help others grow in/toward/for Christ, so that they can go and do likewise.

Presbyterian College in South Carolina

WHAT YEAR DID YOU START COMING TO HOPE? START WORKING AT HOPE?

Started attending Hope in 2014; joined the Hope Team in 2023

WHAT SPORTS TEAM DO YOU ROOT FOR?

University of Georgia football team – Goooo Dawgs!

IF YOU COULD BE ON A REALITY TV SHOW, WHICH ONE WOULD YOU CHOOSE AND WHY?

Great British Baking Show – as a judge, not a contestant because I’d rather taste all the yummy things, instead of baking under pressure with limited time.

IF YOU COULD PICK UP A NEW SKILL IN AN INSTANT, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

American Sign Language – I love communicating with people and talk with my hands frequently, so ASL would help me connect with more people

WHAT 2-3 FICTIONAL CHARACTERS WOULD YOU BE A COMBINATION OF?

Bo Peep (Toy Story), Hermione (Harry Potter), and Belle (Beauty & The Beast

WHAT’S ONE FOOD YOU COULD EAT EVERY DAY OF YOUR LIFE? WHAT’S ONE FOOD YOU CAN’T STAND?

Love pizza, loathe beef stroganoff (and yes, there’s a story…)

WHAT IS ONE FAVORITE VERSE/PASSAGE OF SCRIPTURE?

1 Peter 5:10 “And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.”

Peter reminds us that while suffering in this life is guaranteed, God promises our restoration through faith in Christ. The shifts our perspective: from focusing on what’s hard, to holding on to what is holy.
